Negotiations with the local committee and' the New Zealand Brass Bands Association:' for conducting the next Dominion contest here in February, have resulted in a hitch over the distribution of profits. The; local commit-.-tee decided last evening that, unless its: decision regarding distribution is accepted, it will not conduct the contest. The Association intimated that the first charge on profits should be £SO fow' the Association as a contest fee, plus a further 10 per cent, of all profit. Various other minor recomifiendations were received. After discussion it was decided to offer the Association ten per cent, of the profits with a maximum of £SO, or no contest.
