FASCIST AUSTRIA
DOLLFUSS’ SPEECH ' ’ -’A *Vv ; ; DICTATORIAL REGIME PRELUDE. (United Association—By 1 Electric Telegraph—Copyright.).. 3 ' VIENNA, September .12. B is generally expected that tbe Premier, Dr. Dollfuss,’,. declaration is the prelude to a dictatorial regime based on the Italian,Fascist system. It is understood that if an Austrian Parliament meets again, the delegates will be drarvn llrom a list of candidates, prepared Jby the Government, and' embracing the employers, employees, professional classes, and scientific and other institutions.
Tlie speech, however, has somewhat disappointed the extremists,, as Doctor Dollfuss never once used the word “Fascism,” which Prince Starbemberg had been trying hard to put in DrDollfuss’ mouth in recent.,. weeks. Instead, the Premier adroitly announced the “Death of Parliament.” The probable reason for avoiding any announcement of a full-blooded Fascist dictatorship was that France lias intimated that she cannot support a Fascist Austria. - V....... - V . -4;. .
