WEEK-END DEATHS
BOY’S FATAL FALL 20 FOOT DROP FROM A TREE. (Per Press Association, Copyright). CHRISTCHURCH, ..Sept 10. Colin Innes, aged 11, whose parents live at Stanmore Road Riclimand, died at Christchurch public hospital, this morning, following a mil from a tree yesterday. ■ Innes was flying a kite yesterday morning in Richmond Park, when his kite became' entangled in the branches of a tall tree. The boy climbed , the tree to a height of about 20 feet, but fell and injured his shoulder. He was admitted to Christchurch Hospital and yesterday afternon was not in a serious condition, but'he became seriously jll during the night and-died late this morning. An inquest will be held this evening j and it is understood the coroner will order a post-mortem examination
MOTORIST RUNS INTO BRIDGE. INVERCARGILL, September 10. Kenneth Liimsden, A single man, aged 24, of Invercargill, was , killed while motoring home from* a suburb with two companions ylate last evening. It appears that, when negotiating New River ' bridge, a few miles from Invercargill, the steerug gear failed to respond, and the car crashed into the bridge. Ity overturned, pinning Lumsden, and causing spinal injuries to which he succumbed shortly after he arrived at the hospital. AUCKLAND HARBOUR TRAGEDY AUCKLAND, ' September 10. On Saturday, a man warned Wesley Overend, aged 41, employed by the Cook County Council;, was found 'dead at Parikanapa from a gunshot wound. At the inquest ! to-diay before. Air Walton S.M , a verdict of suicide was returned. ' ' '
