SILVER SCORN THIRD (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, September 10. Tattersalls Club’s meeting was held in beautiful weather, with a large attendance at Randwick, the track being excellent. Rogilla won the Chelnis ford Stakes, and it was a popular victory. He pushed through a narrow opening just in time to head Topcal, who just staved off a challenge front Silver Scorn, who moved forward smartly in the last furlong. Silver Scorn was unlucky. She was flying in the straight, and would have won in another few strides.
Hunt the Slipper fell in the Brush Hurdles. The horse and rider werepot hurt. Love Song got badly away in the Welter, and finished sixth.
TOTE MISCALCULATION : WELLINGTON September 9. A serious mistake in the calculation of the win dividend occurred in the Bollard Memorial Handicap, and over forty win investors were paid out half the correct dividends before tile error was discovered. | Serious inconvenience was aDo caused in the next race by the totalisator being closed down five minutes before the time advertised on the dial.
