NEW STEAMER
FOR INTER-COLONIAL TRADE.

WELLINGTON, August 29
The Sydney shipping firm of H. C. Sleigh- has purchased the Norwegian steamer Nord for the purpose of engaging in trade between Australia and New Zealand. The Nord is. a vessel of 2040 tons.
She is at present en route from Europe to Melbourne, with a cargo of Baltic timber, and on the completion of the discharge in Australia, she will he transferred to the inter-Colonial cargo service. The Nord, which will be renamed the Abel Tasman, J was formerly known as the Mont Blanc, and was built ut Ambacht, Holland, in 1916.
