They became engaged and accused obtained the money by representing that he'wa s interested in a farm at Chertsey and needed money for it.' He Was located at Auckland and was charged at Wellington with obtaining £2O in a similar way. He was now serving a term of'three month s’ imprisonment fOV the crime. The money stolen from Miss Haste represented practically her life savings. '■
