NEW SEASON

INCREASE IN BUTTERFAT

WHANGAREI, August 23,

Tlie output of butter by the Hikurangi Dairy Company; Limited for the first two.months of the new season sho.ws an increase over that for the same period of last (season of 39 per cent. For July 36 tons 3cwt. of butter wag, made, compared with 25 tong 3cwt. for July of last year, an increase of 43.7 per cent. The output for the two months-of the. new season was. 84 tons, an, ..increase of .39. .per cent, compared with the corresponding period of last season.

The Whangarei Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, is advancing to suppliers for July butter-fat at the rate, of per lb. superfine and 9d. first grade. The output of butter from this company's factory for the new season shows an increase of about 22 per-cent over the same period ,of. l'st year. A/ deferred payment was made to-day -by the •company of £9638. The splendid weather of, thjj -past two months has materially .assisted supplies. in the increased production. The season so far has been most , favourable and ,the growth i,s very good.. Paddocks are looking green and stock generally is. in excellent condition. The great growth of pastures last summer enabled- farmers to make 3,mple provision for winter and spring feeding.
