THREE INJURED

WHEN GELIGNITE EXPLODES ACCIDENT AT AN OTAGO DAM (Per Press Association —Copyright). DUNEDIN, August 24. A gelignite explosion occurred this afternoon at Manuherika dam, near Oturehua, Central Otago, resulting in three men being injured. They are: Kenneth Cameron, John 'Scoles, and John Pauley, all of Dunedin. They were all admitted to the Maniototo Hospital. Cameron is very severely injured. Scoles is suffering from deep cuts about the head and face. Pauley’s injuries are of a minor nature.

It is understood that the men were working with picks over ground wheie a charge of gelignite»had previously been laid, and that a pick came in contact with the explosive.
