During the week-end visit of Squad-ron-Leadey W;ilkes.-.to the South,sK»e Aerodrome, advice was sought as to the location of further hangars, some of which will require to he built shortly. including accommodation for Mr Mercer’s touring planes. Advice was given not to extend further seaward but to keep up stream under the hill, and this course will be followed. Mr Mercer who flew to Okuru on Sunday with a passenger from Christchurch, alighted at Southside en route, and subsequently met the Air Force party at Waiho Gorge. Mr Mercer returned to Christchurch yesterday, nnd will be a frequent -flying visitor to the Coast from now on.

The West Coast Airways Ltd., has intimated to Mr W. Jeffries, 'chairman of the Hospital Board, that it is ready to co-operate in that respect at the shortest notice, if required.
