The committee set up t 0 go into the possibilities of completing the Napier-Gisborne railway met here today. Representatives were present fr 0 m Napier; Hastings, Wairoa and Gisborne. After full discussions it was decided to set up two .sub-committees for the purpose of carrying out further investigations. One committee, .composed of Gisborne delegates, is to secure the fullest information at that end; the second committee, being composed of Hastings, Napier and Wairoa delegates, is to carry out similar work at the Napier end of the line. The- Government will be requested to supply the committee. with a copy of all reports concerning tiie whole line. The meeting • was most enthusiastic, and ampise justification for making a claim for lino rice "for investigation purposes will, it-is . stated, be quickly forthcoming.
