TRAM ACCIDENT
TEN PASSENGERS INJURED SYDNEY MOTORMAN (Australian Press, Association).

When , a motorman collapsed-', at the controls to-day, his tram bolted downhill at Redferu, and finally collided with the rear of another tram. Ten passengers were hurt, chiefly through abrasions, lacerations and shock. Eyewitnesses say that it was miraculous that several were not killed, so severe was the impact. Both trams) were badly damaged. Some of the passengers, realising that an accident was inevitable, lept from the runaway tram, risking their lives amongst dense, fast-moving motor traffic. There were scenes °f great confusion where the collision occurred. There were terrified women,
.suffering front’’’’shock and lacerations, receiving attention. The result was a complete block of the traffic in Cleveland Street, which is a- busy: highway on the fringe of the city. • '•>'
