Nearly two hundred military cadets were injured, some of them fatally, when a special train cawying 'five hundred cadets fell into a river near Naneliang as the result of the collapse of a bridge after heavy rains and floods.
Although the flood conditions in the Yellow River basin are gradually showing an improvement, the position is still serious. There ha s already been considerable loss of life. The huge dyke walls are proving sufficiently strong to withstand the torrents. v-M-h came wiU'in a few inches of last year’s v ecord.
