OBITUARY
The death • occurred yesterday of a very old pioneer of the Grey district, Mr Andrew McFarlane, who had reacned the remarkable age of ninety-nine years. A native of Scotland, he came to the West Coast in the early days, and was well-known in Greymouth prior to entry seven years ago-into the Old People’s Home. He spent many years on the diggings, including'those up the Grey Valley. He was unmarried, and had no relatives in New Zealand.
