HOSTILE AUDIENCE
LYTTELTON SEAT CAMPAIGN. (Per Prsss Association - Copyriyht.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 22. Mr E. L. Hills, Independent Labour candidate for Lyttelton, met a hostile audience at Woolston to-night. . He had a quiet meeting ; until question tune, and then much hostility, to his candidature was shown, In reply to one questioner, who suggested that somebody was finding the funds for Mr Hills to come out and
split the Labour vote, Mr Hills said lie was being supported by men who believed in independence. He also, declared: “Already, I have been offered a sum of money to .withdraw from the contest, and the offer did not come from the Coalition.” '
