POPULATION OF GREAT BRITAIN.
STATIONARY BEFORE 1940.

Britain’s population will bo stationary before 1940, according to Professor J B. S. Haldane, of Cambridge, Who predicts that it will decline 25 per cent by 1950, largely. (owing ' t’o a '“riiothers’ strike,” as 100 girls hom in 1933 will leave only 80 daughters. The same prospect, he said, faced Australia.
Professor .Haldane suggests as the best means for increasing a good class population, increased pay for civil servants, the army , and the navy—since picked men should rear good, children—■ the prevention of the next war, which would kill the picked men on both sides, • arid the abolition of inherited Wealth, since wealthy people tend tri have too f.ew children.
