AUCKLAND, August 21
The restriction of' production will spell dd&aster to the financial -and economio existence of the Dominion. It, therefore, will be necessary to do everything possible to prevent the application of restrictions. We believe the opening up of the Dominion market to the free entry of British goods, will go a. long way towards the prevention of the “regulation of imports o-f d.Ji’y produce into the' United Kingdom,” said Mr Dyne s Fulton in, a lengthy statement, which he submitted to the Tariff .Commission ' to-day. W c therefore ask for a gradual abolition of 'all tafifiV on British goods. We bold the opinion that a definite period should bo fixed, during which the duty reduction should be carried out on a sliding scale.
