In reference to new regulations that have been gazetted, governing the new system of awardg for the New Zealand Territorials and Permanent Forces the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, .point's out that the -awards have been standardised throughout the Empire.

The.only difference in the standardised decoration so far as New Zealand is concerned will be the name of New Zealand in the title of the bar brooch mounting.

The; (decorations and medalg lje'placecl in New Zealand by new medals and decorations are: The Colonial Auxiliary Force officers and good conduct medal for the Colonial Forces, the Coi •■! nl Aiiol-n-y For: ling service m? the Now Zealand long am! efficient service medal, and the New Zealand Territorial service medal ; but these conditions - _fo he awarded to those officers, of other rank 6 who qualified for them before September 22, 1931,. from which date the new awards came into operation. Tt is understood that one -of the effects of the change in the system will be the reduction in the number of medals awarded for long and efficient service, and this condition applies to all parts’of the Empire.
