(Received this day at 11,20 a,m.) LONDON, Augtwt .ar. ms
Mr Basil Newton, British charge d’affaires at Berlin, has been instructed to protest against the shipping order, as it is a breach of article 18 of the . Anglo-Gennan Commercial treaty, securing equal privileges for passengers and ships of either country, and it open to the strongest objection as interfering with the right of individual passengers to embark on any ship they chose. Mr Newton has been requested to inquire into the contemplated cargo restrictions.
