PRICES FIRM AT LOW RATES
August 16. The sale of live stock at Addington to-day was satisfactory. There was a email' offering of store sheep. T Vallies were on the basis of iate rates. Anything of quality was readily sold. The demand was firm. There was, a moderate yarding) # fat sheep, mostly, ewes... Medium weight sheep showed a rise up to 3s ■ per head. Heavy weights .were firm at late rates. 7 Twenty-four- spring lambs were penned, mostly,- of excellent quality. , The top price was 32s Id. Light lambs . sold from 17s 10. , :i Approximately 500 head of beef were yarded, the quality being .good, anil there wag. a boy,ant sale at value® up to those of last markets. N Best price for bullocks was £l3 7s fid; heifers .and cows sold up to £9 7 13 6d. Fat pigs were plentiful. Porkers were easier; and baconers were firm. Light pork sold from 20s, and heavy, up t 0 325; light baconers from 365; heavy bacon.to. 54s 6d; extra to £3 ss. Choppers sold up to, £4' 6s, and down to 40fl. .
