WEST COAST RUGBY UNION. The committee met ' at Greymouth last evening. ; ■>.- Permission was granted the Lake Brunner -Sub-Division to challenge Westland fo r the Dittman Shield, the game to be played , at Hokitika on August 26. The West Coast Radio Society (Station 3ZR) was granted permission. to broadcast next Saturday's Shield game, under the usual conditions.

The secretary reported that he had been advised bv the Railway Department that an excursion twin would be. run to Christchurch for the Ranfurly Shield game on Septembe r 2, under the usual conditions. The train will, on this occasion, -probably start from Ross
