The finding of the Railway Board inquiry into the Albury mail accident at Downing on July 11 is that the accident wn s due to the breaking of the switch rail in the catch points while the locomotive was passing over it. The negligence of the inspecting engineer, the resident engineer and the sub-inspect-or, in carrying out the examination of the catchpoints, made those officers equally responsible with the ganger for the accident.
All four persons will be "suitably dealt with.”'
