At the Supreme Court before Mr Justice Kennedy to-cUv, prisoners were (sentenced as follows :

Cecil Frederick Hill, for breaking, entering and theft (three charges), reJeivied two years’ reformative detention on each charge- to be concurrent.

Wages Wallace Shaw Aberne:hy, for (failing'to account fo r money, was given nine months’ reformative detention.

Charles Percival 1 Robert McCreath

and William Arthur Stewart, and Albert Harris foa’ attempted breaking and entering wbh intent to commit a crime and fo r breaking and entering a warehouse and committing theft were sentenced as follows ; Harris -to one year and two years’ hard labour, to be concurrent • McCreath wag ordered to be detained for reformative purposes for one year, and ’ on the o.hotcharge t-o be detained for two ye:»’s, these terms to be concurrent ; Stewart \va s -sentenced on each of the two charges t-o nine months’ reformative detention, to be concurrent. Harris on a joint charge of receiving, with Albert Sharp, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment with hard labour to he cumulative on hi s present sentence, but concurrent with the other sentences. In the Police Court to-clay, George James Wilton, a married man, was ohrCged with- supplying la young woman with a noxious thing for the purpose of procuring a certain resuL. The accused pleaded not guilty. He reserved his defence and was committed to the -Supreme Court for trial, bail being allowed. Kenneth Davis, aged 19, and James Eric Hawkins, aged 20, were committed Ifor trial on charges of carnal knowledge of girls under 16. NEW PLYMOUTH SENTENCES. NEW PLYMOUTH, July 29. In the Supreme Court the Chief. Justice (Sir Michael Mye-ns), sentenced prisoners -as follow: Leonard Lawrence de Malmanche, of 'Masterton, forgery, to come up for sentence if called on in two ve'-rs; restitution of 827 to be made. Bertie Stanley Pilcher, aged 19, of Feilding, forgery ; and Victor Colin Hirst, aged 19, of Feilding, forgerv and uttering ; each probation f°r 12 months.

Albert Edward Stan den, Pnhiatir-, making a false document for insertion in marriage register, probation for 12 montbg.
