MYSTERY VESSEL
SEEN OFF FIJI (United Press l asociation—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received this day at 10.5 a.in.) SUVA, July 29. A mysterious vessel, about eighty feet long, believed to be a Japanese, was observed off Funafuti. It departed at high speed when a district officer attempted to board it. Fijians on ( Kia island fifteen miles north of Vanuativie, reported a Japanese vessel appeared outside the reaf on July I(stli, and landed forty men, who obtained water and. then departed.
