LAWN TENNIS
ENGLISH TOUR OF AUSTRALIA,
LONDON, July 23
The Fngliivh Lawn Teimi s Association has accepted the invitation to send team to Australia during the 1933-44 season.
Before the composition of the team cart be announced it will be necessary to canvass the players visiting America to sue whether they can continue their journey to Australia.
As they have already expressed eagerness to go, this is a mere ifrrmalit.y. and it is believed that the team will consist of Perry, Hughes, Lee and Wilde.
Mr S. R. You dale attended the association's meeting, where Mr H. Roper Barrett, the non-playing captain of the English team, is believed to have pleaded that an Australian tour would fatigue the team. Mr Youdale replied that the voyage to America, then to Australia and also homeward, would provide the rest. Ho added that- England could not expect the visits of Australians champions.
from Norn-.n Brookes onward, to continue if they were not reciprocated. Mr Youdale’s eloquence -resulted in an overwhelming vote in favour of the tour.
