THE REV. S. LAWP.Y.
The Rev. S.vmuel Lawry, one of the most prominent figures in the his- , tory of the (Methodist Church in New Zealand, died on Wednesday afternoon at the 'home of his son, Mr Mel vide VLawry, Mount Pleasant. Fifty years of Mr Lawrv’s life, 'were spent in the active work of the ministry, and during that tim© he filled every office a t . Methodist minister could hold. The' deceased filled many .appointments in* eluding Eangitikei, Mornington, Hokitika, Franklin, Upper Thames, Hamilton, Ashburton, Grafton .road (Auckland). Manukau, Palmerston North, Vnd Pap'Jmri. Altogether, lie spent 34 years im circuit’ work. His , wufe died ’in 1920. He leaves three sons and two daughters.
