Frederick John Alfred Hart, winner o* 1 the £2OOO prize in the recent “Luck At Last” art union appeared this morning and was charged with failing to provide adequate maintenance for his wife, and was remanded till Friday. At the same time a civil action for £B/10/- was brought, counsel admitting that Ids client- had been inundated with similiar claims since his arrival at Napier.
