Prices 'for most lines were firm ar to-day’s Addington live stock sale. There was a firm demand for good broeding ewes and hoggets. Best two tooths sold up to 225, and attractive ewes to 17s 4d.
There was a small yarding of mutton. The market opened steadily, and wethers sold up to’ 30s, best fat ewes to 25s 4d.
There was a small yarding of fat lambs, mostly oddments, with only a few pens of prime quality, which firmed considerably. Light weights were easier. Best heavy lambs sold to 20s 10d, extra prime 21s to 245, prime 17s 6d to 245, medium 14s to 17s, light from 10s.
Over four hundred head of beef were offered. The quality was in the main good, with a keen sale throughout. Best heavy bullocks sold up to £l2 17s 6d, prime heavy £lO 5s to £l2 7s 6d, handy weights £7 15s to £8 10s, light from £5 ss. Heavy heifers madeup to £9 2s 6d, prime heavy £7 7s 6d to £8 12s 6d, prime £5 12s dd to £G 15s, medium from £3 12s 6d. Best heavy cows sold to £8 12s 6d, prime from £5 15s to £7, medium £4 10s to £5 10s, plain from 50s. There was a medium offering of fat pigs and porkers, for which prices were firm at Tate rates. Bacon was easier. Porkers realised from 20s to 25s 6d, heavy to 30 s 6d; choppers 86s 6d to £4 11s; baconors 34s 6d to 40s fid, heavier 44s 6d to 50s, extra heavy to £3 5s 6d.
