IRISH DISPUTE
NEW NEGOTIATIONS
SETTLEMENT WITH BRITAIN.

It is rumoured tlmt negotiations are being resumed for a settlement of the: Anglo-Irish dispute.
-Ur Sean Lomas, a members of the Free State Ministry, speaking in the Senate, declared that Ireland was not anxious to maintain the existing tariff barriers.
“Ireland,” lie said, “will remove the emergency duties if Britain will do the same. In fact Ireland will go further, She will mediately remove her duties if Britain removes hero within a reasonably short time.” In the Commons a. member asked would the Government accept, a lump sum settlement of the dispute with the Irish Free- State. In reply, Mr Thomas, said the Government was always prepared to consider any suggestion that might lead to a comprehensive settlement, but any statement at present would not be conductative to the end they desired,
