LORD ROTHERMERE’S PLEA
LONDON, July 26
In an article in the “Daily Mail” Lord Pvoihermere ts protesting against the application of the quota for New Zealand and Australian dairy produce. ■He uses arguments that are employed -by Mr Forbes, namely., that these two Dominions provide far better markets ifor -the British manufacturers than does Denmark, a'nd also that Britain can hardly .'expect New Zealand and Australia to pay the interest on the money that has bee,n loaned to them if their natural ouput i fi to be restricted.
Lord Eothermere urges the strongest of preferential treatment for the Dominions’ produce, stating that the British delegates to the Economic Conference have been looking at world trade from a wrong angle. They have taken an international view, whereas they should have taken a strong imperialistic view.
CONFERENCE’S NEXT MEETING
