CATCH MAKES CROWD ROAR

LONDON, July 19

Fifty police, drawn from uniform patrols, plain-clothes sections and the Hying squ'ad attached to a police station in North London, converged on a store at a street corner.

Hundreds of people gathered and watched the cordon closing on. the premises, for the rumour had spread that burglars were in the store. A detachment of officers drew away from the ring and quietly entered the premises. The crowd prepared for dramatic events.

Soon the party reappeared. Be 'tween stalwart policemen walked two little boys in white shirts and grey trousers. For a moment the " crowd wars dumb. Then there was a titter which grew to a hoar of laughter. With grim faces the “troops” marched off and the child prisoners were taken to the police station.
