TWO U.S. DOCTORS KIDNAPPED

BRUTAL ILL-TREATMENT

NEW YORK, July 21

America’s- strangest kidnapping, involving torture and an elaborate plot .to plant the, murder of one. doctor on 'another, and to make the. latter’s death appear to be suicide, occurred to-day, at, .St. Paul, Minnesota.

The' plot, which- the police believe to have’ been organised by a disgruntled patient, partially-failed, as both doctors-are alive, and recovering from their'wounds.-- ’ . '

Drs Ehgeberg. and ITcdberg, each unknown to the other, ' were the victims. They were kidnapped by the same gang,' and Dr Engobcrg • was ordered, under threat, of death, to mutilate Dr' Hedbcrg.
