LOWE DEFEATS PARKER. T Per Press Association — Copyright ) DUNEDIN, July 24. The professional boxing contest of fifteen, rounds ibetween Eddie Parker (Timaru) 11.12 r and Bert Low© (Dunedin) 11.6£,. the middleweight champion, went the full distance here to-night, Lowe winning on points. It was only by good stagecraft that Parker managed to see the contest out. Parker wa s badly rattled in the first round with ,a loft to the jaw and in the fifth round he had a bad time but by excellent blocking and clinching he wr. s able to hold off Lowe’s attacks.
Parker put up a- game fight, and he was always ready to face his opponent, and by sound blocking and good •footwork, to nullify most of the vigorous rallies of his opponent. The decision dn favour of Low e had a mixed reception.
