BRITISH JEWRY

SPLIT THREATENED

BOYCOTT DECISION SEQUEL

(United Press Association—By rjectrio Telegraph—Copyright)

LONDON, July 24

Tlie Jewish deputies’ decision not to officially support the Jewish boycott of German goods was carried by 110 votes to 27, after the President, Neville Lagki, opposed the boycott on the ground of there being grave danger of reprisals on the Jews in Gemany.

According to the “Daily Herald,” the Board’s decision threatens to cause a split in the ranks of British Jewry, of which a large section desires the official recognition of the boycott. Already the boycott is operating on a large scale. The feeling is so intense that five hundred Jews on Sunday threatened an East End shopkeeper, who, they alleged, sold German goods. They picketed his shop, and they attempted to dissuade any customers from entering.
