U.S. KIDNAPPING
100,000-DOL. PAID'; MOKE WANTED YOUTH STILL HELD CAPTIVE. (United Press Association—By ElectricTelegraph—Copyright). VANCOUVER, July 23. ' The kidnappers of the youth, ; John O’Connell, have already extracted one hundred thousand dollars from his wealthy relatives, but they insisted on getting the remainder of their original demand, which was two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. They have sent this message to the father of the vanished . victim : “You O’Connells know who we are, and we know who you are. Mark your money if you Want to. You may get it back in six months; but you must ‘kickin’ now!” The police believe that young O’Connell is still alive.
