WESTLAND SUB-UNION MEETING^ The Westland Rugby Sub-Union met las; evening there being present the president, (Air J. C. Stafford), W. H. Stop forth, F. '.McGregor, D. R. Dowell, J. MeClea-ry, J. McCollum, A- CJutbush and -E. W. Hcenan. Permission was granted the local Volunteer Corps to use- Cass Square on 7 Augost 2, on the ocasion of match/ with the Greymouih Volunteer beam. The Matainui Sub-Division of , the Sub-Union wrote asking that a Hok&yS tika team pay a visit to H nihari .arj/fu play a match with the S-outh Westland representatives on August T2 or 19. . The -request wais held over pending the receipt- of further the meeting desiring to know what gatereceipts would be anticipated. 1 The West Coast -Rugby Unio n forwarded the -schools’ grant, also a copy of the McLean rule s for perusal.—Re. ce;ved.. The Ros s Club intimated that it was prepared to play the ffunner-up in the G-reymouth -competition if the match could be arranged at Hokitika.—lt was decided to forward the challenge to the West Coast Union. J It- was decided to ask the West CoastV Union to -play the return Dittman Shield match at Hokitika next Saturday to enable the selectors to choose the best possible team to p'lay Golden Bay for the -Seddon Shield. Matches for Saturday -were tentatively arranged as follow ;—Seniors-e—Excelsiof v. Kiwi, Oass Square, 3 p.m. (F. Carter) > Pirates v. Ross, 3, at Ross (J, McCleary). Juniors—-Kiwi v. Koka* tahi, at Kokatahi (M. Wallace) • Ex« celsior v. Pirates, at -Rim-u (R. Collett) J Ross and School teams a bye.
