It ha« been reported to the police that a man entered'the Self Help store, Ferry Road, \Voolstoii, o r n Friday evening at 9.10, putting out the lights as lie entered. He Hashed a torch on the manjager, H. G. Belton, commanding him to put up Ills hands and not move. At that point the torch failed. Bolton crouched down, crawled round a counter, opened the front door and got a message sent to the police. The burglar fled. There were £SO in the manager’s bag at the time, which was just after tile shop closed. Just previously ja. bogus telephone message was received which had the effect of sending Bolton’s assistant to another store a mile away The.assistant went out of the back door, leaving it opened and- hero the intruder entered. : ...
