Prisoners were sentenced Oy Mir Justice Bla.r at the aup .'em e 1 Court to-dav as follows :

William Philp, aged 18, and Norval Roderick Patrick Baxter, aged 21, appeared oil live charges of breaking and entering with theft, and three of attempted Ureaidng and entering Philp was sentenced to reformative detent.on for two years. Baxter was admitted to probation for three years. i,eo Asi i ley oarrlmer , for indecent assault on a male, received threeyears' reformative detention. bamuel Campbell McSaveney. for house breaking and theft-, v\as sentenced to re.onnative detention for 13 months . William John Thomas Whalley, for breaches of the conditions of his release on probation, was given 18 months’ imprisonment.

MANY WELLINGTON CASES.

WELLINGTON, July 21.

Fifteen criminal eases are set down for trial at the third quarterly sessions of the Supreme Court opening on day, and it is anticipated that it will take at least a fortnight to go through the list. The civil list contains eight cases, which will be heard by a Judge and jury of twelve, and ; twenty-fone cases to be heard before a Judge alone, There are twenty-six undefended divorce suits, and two defended, to be heard before a Judge alone, and one case before a Judge and jury.
