CHURCH ARMY

The eight members of the Church Army Flying Column have done good work in the several centres of Hoki•tika, Ross and Kuiuara parishes during the past week. The wet weather prevented services and meetings on Friday, but dur.ng tho rest of the week, tne efforts pur forth were greatly blessed. During the week there- has been fifty-three sci i ices held in seven centres, and good attendances have prevailed throughput. The missioners, who are in New Zealand at the express invitation of the Archbishop, the Bishops and Clergy, will continue their work during this week in those same parishes, ..before moving on to the Canterbury district. In Hokitika there are services each day, .conducted by Capt. E. F- Beck, loader of tho column and by Sister AI. K.-North. The services are for children at 4.30 p.m. and for all and everyone at p.m; in the Church of AU Saints. On Tuesday evening some 120 people attended the first mission service which was bright and informal. On Sunday next there is to be a special men’s service at 2.30 p.m. In the a.lernoon, the speaker will be Capt. F. E. Beck’ and the subject will be “Some Aspects of Life.” In the evening there will be community singing at 6 p.m., J followed by a final mission service a.t 1 7 pun. All those that are able are invited to this service, when there will he a selected soloist and special sing.iig.
