ASHBURTON, July 19.
The New Zealand challenge shield, presented -by. citizens of Ashburton, .was w.QJi by 'Christchurch No. 1 team, with a score of 493 the postal match, organised by Ashburton miniature rifle club. Twenty-two teams from Whan* garei to Invercargill competed. Timaru No. 1, last year’s winners, were second this year with 492. Others were Sefton 490, Pleasant Point No. 1 487, Longburn ,487, Wellington Harbour Board 486, Sumner-Red cliffs 485, Willowbridge 485, Morven 483, Timaru No. 2 481.
