(Received this day at 12 noon). MELBOURNE, July 19. / Plans for thp re-organisation of Australian .military forces on a mechanised basis was announced by the Minister of iD.efenc.e, Mr Pearce. The policy adopted is in line with the recent development in the British Army. The plans include the training pf militia ■forces in peace times in the use of mechanised units and establishment of a jliason with/the owners of suitable .jc/gnmercial motor vehicles, so that the organisation may be extended in time ,gf war.
