The following will represent a combined Linwood-Albion team against Hokitika, on July. 22 (train leaves Christchurch at 6 a .in. on Saturday) : —M. Aiooney, S. Loader, G. Mattersou, E. Taylor, T. BULLER V. WEST COAST
•At this week’s meeting of the Bulkr Rugby Union, it was resolved that the West Coast Union be advised that it was regretted the request for the play, iug of tlie homc-and-home match between Buller and West Coast,-at Hokitika, could not be acceded to. It was deckled that an invitation be extended to the Golden Bay Seddon Shield team, to play a friendy match at Westport, and that 60 per cent of the net gate takings he offered to Golden Bay.

The weekly meeting of the management committee was held last evening at Greynaouth, Mr A. At. Adams presiding. Arising out of a letter front the Canterbury Union regarding the West Coast’s expenses for the Ranfurjy Shield game, the secretary, treasurer and president wmg appointed to go into the question of the expenses, and to submit details to the Canterbury Union.
The New Zealand Union advised that it had fixed August 12 ais the date for the Seddon Shield match with Nelson, but that the Unions could mutnaljiy ’agree to play the match on August 26 instead, if it was mqrc suitable.
It was decided to advise Nelson that either the 12th or 26th would he suitable, and to ask them to confirm a date as soon as possible. . The Buller Rugby Union wrote suggesting the following alterations to the Newmap Shield Rules (Primary Schools competition): ), "That. { tinstpad qf the winning .'school team , in ( each district competing, a representative team |of all school, : teams represent egch 'district,. thus enab|fog| email country ’schools, to be, 'represented , in th©' competition.’’ . , . . , j,. « The Westland Sub-Union wrote asking for their annual school grant, atati ing ..that they had issued a large number of footballs to the schools.

' bn;, that the date of the match be held over in the meantime. The following rule s for the McLean 'Shield competition (for the trophy donated by Mr P. J. McLean for annual competition) were approved • (1) The trophy to be competed for by the winners of the senior club competitions m G'reymouth, and the Westland SubUnion, the first game to be played in Greymouth, and all subsequent games alternatively at Greymouth and Hokitika. (2) The Union or Sub-Union on whose ground tile game is played, to receive the gross gate, les,s the transport expenses of the travelling team of 18 players ■ and a. manager, such expenses to be ;, .jtyased on train transport. (3) The ' holders of the Shield to be responsible . for the engraving of it. (4) Insurance on the trophy to be borne by the West CoastUnion. (5) Players to comply with the residential qualification of 14 days, and must have played in four or more competition games for their club in the seaison. (6) The Union or SubUnion ,dn .whose ground- the game is played., to appoint the referee. (7) In the event of the winner of the senior competition being unable to fulfil the fixture, the Union or Sub-Union shall say whether the next team on the ladder shall compete, Oj- if two teams are equal in points, then the Unions shall say which team is to compete. It was decided to submit the above -rules to the Westland Sub-Union for their approval, .prior to their final adoption. Mr Baillie said that he thought that a number of players should be selected to go into training for the Seddon Shield games.
After some discussion the selectors were instructed to select any number of players they might think fit to- go into training fo r the representative games. Messrs Joyce and Bailee are to take l charge of the Greymouth players. and Messiy. Dowell and Devaney of the Hokitika players.
After a long discussion it was resolved to adhere to the previous decision and not to allow broadcasting of dub matches.
