The biggest crowd which has ever been in the Dunedin Town Hall saw .Geoilge Walker (.14.5) to-night, defeat A 1 Pereira..(ls.4) by one subm:s.sion fall, gained in the seventh round, by means of a reverse toe hold. Throughout the bout Pereira did the attacking, and Walker was content to keep out of .a,ny seriou s trouble. The winner did not show any new hold, land he wa s never spectacular, but he gave gome marvellous exhibitions of strength at . times, completely bursting Pereira’s holds by sheer force. With defeat staring him in the face Pereira sprang out of his corner and staged a desperate last round. He clamped on 'body scissors time after time, but Walker always managed to twist himself free and at the final gong he was probably the fresher of the two. .'i-

Hal Rumherg, an American wrestler, made a successful debut in New jZealand when he defeated “Whiskers” Blake, to-night. The contest ended in the fifth round, when Bumberg felled his opponent with a flying iscissora, 'and obtained a -fall with a body press. He had previously gained a fall in the third round with a press, following a spin round by the legs. It was evident from the start that.. Rumberg was too good for his opponent.
