RAISED AGAINST BRITAIN (United Press Association—By Electrie Telegraph—Copyright). OTTAWA, JULY 12. The imposition of a new special impost by means of higher valuations for duty purposes on British imports, is under consideration by Cabinet. , AVhen the British pound was depreciated, Canada imposed a dumping duty of the difference between the pound as quoted and the pound at dollars 4.86. Within two weeks, the rate was set at dollars 4.40. Canadian importers had to pay the special exchange. The dump situation having reversed, so that the pound us above tine dollar, the Government is considering a new impost.
