Following a report by the chief traffic inspector (to the City Conn'd! last evening, it was .decided that motorists, advanced in years, when applying for renewals of their driving licenses, may be Tequired to pass a suitable test if the inspector considers it necessary. The inspector said that some old motorists were careful and efficient, but there might be others who developed disabilities that were not evident, which rendered them physically unfit. As a safeguard hi appeared necessary that, hfter, say 65 years, /applicants should be subject to a driving test before the license wag renewed.
