Official circles deny that the British Government suddenly summoned a meeting or the Dominions’ representatives yesterday in order to suggest the temporary regulation. of production and marketing, with the renewed request for a reduction in exports of dairy produce, and a further temporary reduction in meat.
Yesterday’s meeting was the regular consultation between Britain and lie: Dominions, whereto the Australian Press is informed it is unnecessary to attach, special significance.
The Conference economic commission meeting publicly discussed the French proposals for relief of employment, by means of public works. The American delegations presented resolutions favouring lessened hours of labour with a scale of wages increasing in proportion to the augmentation of productivity.
