MOTOR FATALITIES
CAR’S COLLISION WITH CYCLE,
EX-TENNIS CHAMPION HURT,

CHRISTCHURCH. July 13
A fatal collision -between a motorcycle and car 'occurred at tßeaf.ey •Avenue at 2.15 o’clock this morning. Harold Thomas Doans, 'aged 28, single, a mjiK vendor, who was riding ia cycle, being killed while returning from the dairymen’s ball. Geoffrey Ollivier, the ex-N.ew Zealand tennis champion, who was in the side-car, was taken to hospital with seVere head injuries, but is progressing favourably. The car was driven by Miss Nola Edmonds, who was not hui'r. Deans died while ,in -hospital. Deans’ motor-cycle was struck side on, and overturned twice., Constable Wilson heard the crash and extricated -Deans who was badly hurt. Ollivier sustained -head 'injuries; and was dazod, but not unconscious. It is d-ated that he had been given a. lift by Deans when walking into the city from a friends’ house.
INJURIES PROVE FATAL.
CHRISTCHURCH, July 13
Mrs Susannah Rowe, of Edinburgh Street, died in hospital this morning, the result of being fatally, injured by a motor -car on June 15, while driving a, cart.
