FOOD FOR STRIKERS.

NAPIER, July 12
The social service committee has announced it cannot guarantee to feed strikers during the week, although all efforts will be put forward to do so. Some strikers, applied for work this morning. Meantime the Napier leader has gone to Gisborne and- another leader is in Auckland. The object of these visits is not known. BEQUESTS MADE IN WILL DANNEVIRKE, July 12. Bequests under the will of the late Jonathan Holder, who was a generous benefactor of many local' institutions, during his lifetime,' included £3OO t» the Dannevirke A. and P. Association to be spent on ground improvements; £l5O to the Rualiine Club; £IOO each to the Dannevirke Public, Hospital and the Hunt Club; £SO to Dannevirke Racing Club: £SO to the Salvation Army, and £IOO to Makotuku public school.
