There was a medium yarding of store sheep, mostly of breeding ewes. The latter met a more buoyant demand. The hoggets comprised nondescript lots , and oddments. The demand was fair, and it wa 6 a good sale, considering -the quality. The wethers were in short supply, but also' met ' a firmer demand.

There Was a smaller yarding of fat lambSi Prim© heavy weights were keenly sought after. For light and doubtful grades the demand was not so keen. Best heavy lambs sold up to 26s Id ; prim© heavy 18s to 21s 6d; medium 14s 6d to 17s 6d j light from 10b.

There was a big offering of mutton, mostly from outside Canterbury. Wethers were in shoiT supply. The market was firm. Ewes were easier.

There wa s another heavy yarding of beef. Some good consignments were forward. There wag an over supply of .plain cattle. Competition was keen only on the best lots. All other lots wer© easier. Best bullocks sold to £lO 7s 6d, prime £7 2s 6d to £8 12s 6d, medium £5 7s 6d to £6 7s fid, light from £4 ss. Best heifers gold to £8 12 6d, prime £4 12s 6d to £5 12s fid, medium from £3 15s to £4 7s fid, light from £3. Heavy cows soM up to £6 7s ficl, prime £4 5s to £5, medium £2 15s to £3 10s, light from 30s. There was a. shorter yarding of fat pigs. Prices were easier. Nevertheless haconers probably maintained late rates. Porkers fetched 19s to 245, heavy 25s fid to 30s ; choppers 30s to £4 Is ; baconers 30, s to 40s, heavy 45s to 5 3 s 6u, extra, heavy to £3 5s fid. Store pigs were firmer. Good runner calves were selling better.
