Mr Stanley Baldwin, addressing 1200 delegates at the- Central Council of the Conservative Associations, vigorously defended the Government’s India policy against Lord Lloyd’s resolution attacking the white paper. Mr Winston Churchill and the Rt. Hon. E. H. Carson supported Lord Lloyd. The meeting by 833 votes to 356 ca-rvied an amendment postponing decision until the joint select committee has reported.
