AUCKLAND, June 28
There has- /been revival of activity at the Cfiahuiui railway workshops, and it is reported that about two hundred men will be re-engaged in the next few weeks. The construction of new rolling stock is being undertaken.
APPLICATIONS IN AUCKLAND

In tlie nine days during which applications for the building subsidy have been receivable, 84 have been received for buildings, estimated to cost .£50,000. The largest item is for business premises to cost £13,500, but the majority, are for houses
